One day, while out enjoying a day out on the beach my thirst got the better of me and I started looking around for the nearest watering hole. That is when I noticed, on the pool deck of the nearest hotel a window with palm fringe over it that looked very inviting. I walked up and found a great little Tiki Bar.  I had a cold beer and started chatting with the friendly bartender named Kristina and I thought to myself, I have lived here my entire life and I had no clue that this place existed. Only then did I notice that almost every hotel on the beach had one of these Tiki Bars and they each had their own personality, ambience and environment.

If I, as seasoned local had not discovered these spots, how would a visitor to my home town have any hope of discovering these beachfront gems. Well, from that point on my mission was set! I gathered my "Tiki Team" and we began systematically visiting and documenting these local Tiki Bars.
